ON THE 12TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS...

On the 12th day of Christmas....

Today I am thankful for my testimony.. I am thankful for the gospel in my life..

I know that I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father. I know that the gospel was restored through Joseph Smith for us today. I know the book of mormon is true. I know that if I live righteously that I will be able to live with my family for time and all eternity. I know that Jesus died for me. I know that through the priesthood wonderful blessings can happen if we have faith. I know the power of tithing and fast offerings. I am thankful that we have the opportunity to give and be blessed through those actions. I am so grateful for family prayer. For the opportunity it gives us twice a day to kneel together and thank our Heavenly Father. I love to hear the simple prayers of my boys, and oh the spirit that comes into our home through those simple prayers.

I know that I am not perfect and that is why I have been sent here on earth. I am thankful for the opportunity that I have to become better, to learn the Christ like attributes. I am thankful for the chance I have to help others and love them as our Heavenly Father loves all of his Children. I may not get it first go around, but I sure try to be a good friend, sister, mom, wife, daughter, granddaughter, cousin, and any other hat that I have been given to accomplish.

I truly hope that this Christmas finds you all healthy, happy and remembering why we celebrate. We don't celebrate for the candy, cookies, presents... we celebrate this time of year in memory of our Saviors birth.

Merry 12th day of Christmas!!!! Love you all.

ON THE 11TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS...

On the 11th day of Christmas my true love was sent to me........

Today I am thankful for Kennen. I am thankful for his gentle ways. I am thankful for his advise. I am thankful for his knowledge of the Gospel. I am thankful that he holds and honors his priesthood. I am thankful for the wonderful daddy he is. I am thankful that he does his church callings and does them well and he loves the youth he serves. I am thankful that he provides for me and our boys. I am thankful for the BEST friend that he is.

I am thankful that a little over 13 years ago... He drove to Price to "meet up with his sister" even though she was heading home that next morning. I am thankful that he didn't give up on me. I was a stubborn person and didn't want to date someone with so many differences. I guess opposites attract... I am thankful that he has been here for me through so much. I know that many would have given up on me. He has stood by my side when I have been very ill, dealing with deaths, being a first time mom, helping friends and putting our house 2nd, with me just being me. I know I am not the easiest person to get along with, and he does and he still tells me very often how much he loves me.

I am so thankful for Kennen in my life. I am thankful for all he does for me and the boys. Sweetheart I LOVE YOU and wish you a very merry Christmas...

Hope that you can all tell your Husbands/wives today how much you love them and how much you appreciate them and what they do for you.

Merry 11th day of Christmas..

ON THE 10TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS.......

On the 10th day of Christmas... I am thankful for the little spunker that is 5. I am so thankful for Sid and his little personality. I am thankful for the chatter, laughter, and everything else he brings into our home.

Sid says the cutest, funniest things. He is a hoot to have around. He is still very loud (as some may know it is cause he can not hear.. he has holes in his eardrums) But, Sid would not be Sid without the loudness.

I am thankful for his sweet little ways. He is very gentle, loving, he cares about everyone and everything. He has an imagination that is out of this world. It is so very fun listening to him and having him explain all of his army guy stuff.

He is usually a very big helper. He loves babies and is so dang cute with them. He thinks Kolbi is the bestest ever and always wants to help watch her.

He talks often of Springville, which is very important to him. He talks of HIS Ashleigh and HIS sisters. He still doesn't understand why he can not see them everyday. He talks of his friends there and Bud and Afton, Becca and of Grandma Sandra. What a wonderful little memory that little boy has. He doesn't forget people or places.

I am so thankful that Heavenly Father sent him to our family. I am thankful that he is so much like my dad. I am thankful that he is who he is. We love him.

We hope you have a very merry 10th day of Christmas. Hope Sid makes a smile on your face for the day.

ON THE 9TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS....

On the 9th day of Christmas... I am Thankful for Robbie... I am thankful for the wonderful big brother he is. I am thankful that he is such a great big brother. I am so thankful that this year he loves school once again. I am thankful for such a good student. He is reading on a 7th grade level and is in the 4th grade. I am so glad he loves reading. I love reading. I am so thankful that he helps with so many things even when there are days he complains a little he will still help. I am so thankful he is coming out of his shell. I am thankful that he is so good to all of the kids he is around. He is truly wonderful to all little children.

He loves to read, play video games (no matter the gaming system), hanging with his friends, playing with his brother, scouts. He is such a good kid. I am glad he is part of our family. I can't imagine life without him.

Happy 9th day of Christmas.

ON THE 8TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS....

On the 8th day of Christmas... I am thankful for families. I am thankful for my mom and dad, for my brother and sister in law, for my cute niece and nephews and for my grandparents. I am thankful for Kennen's family also. For his parents and siblings and their children.

I am thankful for all of the extended family that we have. For some I know well and some I don't. I am thankful for the opportunity that I have had to get to know more of both of our families through facebook.

I am thankful for the "other" family we have. For the friends that have become part of our family. How we love each of you so very much.

I am thankful for all of the love and support that we have from so many of you. I am so glad that our Heavenly Father sent us to earth in families. I am thankful for those who step up and become family. How I love and appreciate each and everyone of you.

Happy Sunday and Happy 8th day of Christmas.

ON THE 7TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS...

On the 7th day of Christmas.... Today I am THANKFUL for a clean house and clean clothes. I know this doesn't sound like much... But I LOVE it when it is done.

So here is my little story... The other day I took Sid to school... I cam home which I normally don't cause it is 20 mins home 20 mins. back then 20 mins back to get Robbie so to me that is a lot of travel time.. anyway, I cam home deep cleaned the kitchen and front room. I went back to get the boys from school. Not even 10 mins of them being home it was a mess. I decided at that moment that I was grateful for the little time it was clean and not messed up with the kids belongings.

Since Kennen and I stopped letting the boys even in our room it is clean everyday... It is lovely, our own little clean spot. So I make it sound as if our house is way way messy... It is not, just lived in with 2 little boys.

We hope that you have a clean and fun day. (today is our house cleaning day) yippy!!! boys both have said they are sick and can't help. NOT going to fly... need a better excuse.

Love you all!!!

ON THE 6TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS......

On the 6th day of Christmas..... I am thankful for the knowledge that I have. I am thankful that, that is one thing that will never leave. I will always have what I have learned.

I am thankful for the the knowledge in so many things. I am thankful that if I want to learn more there are so many options and resources that are at my fingertips.

I am thankful that I love to learn and read lots of things. I like the opportunity that I have to research and find answers for any question or concern. I LOVE the feeling I get when I accomplish something.

So today... on the 6th day of Christmas... remember that things you learn and know will never leave and if we don't use or strengthen them they will get rusty. So many things to learn and look at how fun it can be.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!

ON THE 5TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS.....

On the 5th day of Christmas.... I am thankful for the opportunity that I have to be a mother. I am thankful that the Lord trusted me with 2 of his children. I am thankful that I am able to stay at home with our 2 boys. I am thankful that I am able to teach them, help them, and be here for them at all times.

I am thankful that even though I was told that I would never have children that I was so blessed with not only 1 but with 2. I think I am a little one sided but I truly think my boys are WONDERFUL.

For all of you moms out there.... Be grateful for your little ones... and give them all hugs from me.

ON THE 4TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS.......

ON THE 4TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS.... I am Thankful for my friends......okay for our friends....

I am thankful for all of their love and support. I am thankful for their shoulders to cry on. I am thankful that they love me no matter what even when I say stupid things, they don't take it personal they let it go and are still there for me. I am thankful for the fun times we share. I am thankful for ALL they do for me and my family. I am thankful for the nice words and thoughts.

I am thankful for the friends of my youth. Who has liked and loved me for now some of them over 30 years. I am thankful that we have kept in touch and they have been a part of my life for so long. I am thankful for their examples. Thank you Laurie, T'ann and Layla... I am thankful that I have reconnected with so many from my youth this last year..

I am Thankful for the friends Kennen and I have made since marriage. I am thankful for the friends we have in Springville. How I love and miss them a ton. I am thankful for our new friends here in Casper. For their open arms and open hearts.

I think Heavenly Father knows the exact people to put in my life. I wouldn't want to make this journey alone and I am so glad that He has placed each one of you in my life to help me through it.

I love you all....

ON THE 3RD DAY OF CHRISTMAS...

On the 3rd day of Christmas, I am thankful for the cars we drive.

I have been extremely thankful for the car that I have since moving to Wyoming. When we lived in Springville, I took a lot for granted. We lived not far from the school, 7 blocks from Allens grocery store, 2 blocks from the doctor, 2 blocks from maverick and Charlie's gas station, a couple blocks from the church and about 6 blocks from Kennen's work. Everything we ever did was within walking distance. Here on the other hand...... Robbies school is in an entire different section of town. The part we live in is called River west. (West of the North Platte river) The school is located in Paradise Valley. (approx. 9 mins away) Sids school is 20-25 mins. by car. Wal-mart is not close. Church is next to wal-mart. Gas station is not within walking distance either.

I have learned to enjoy car rides and the time with the boys. I have also learned to be grateful for a vehicle that can get through the snow drifts. I am thankful for the cars we have and that they are in good working order to get us to and from work, school, and everywhere else we need or want to go.

Happy 3rd day of Christmas......

ON THE 1ST DAY OF CHRISTMAS....

(I know this is #2 blog for the day... please check out the other one also)

Last year I did the 12 days of Chritmas on my blog. I am going to do it again this year also. To me it was a good reminder of why we celebrate.

So Today on the 1st day of Christmas.... I am Thankful for the the Sabbath day, for the opportunity that we each have to attend the church of our choice. I am thankful for the opportunity to renew my covenants each Sabbath day. This week I was able to attend primary as a teacher. What a great spirit there is with those little kids. I am able to try and teach the 5 year olds. They are full of energy, but also full of lots of love. They so want to learn. I am greatful that I have the opportunity to attend church to learn more about our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ.

Utah, Christmas program and party, day at museum

We have had so much going on, wow!!! it has been a couple of weeks since my last post. Last Sunday we were in Utah celebrating the Christmas season with our families. We Left early Saturday morning (Dec. 5) and drove to Logan. We had our first Christmas party with the Thatcher family. We were able to enjoy a potato bar and the kids had a fun playing with cousins. Thank you Nan and Pop for the wonderful night and the presents for the boys. (Nan, the bag worked wonderful for all my primary stuff thank you!) That night we stayed in a motel with a swim pool so the boys could play and have fun since most of the trip was spent driving. Sunday morning we woke up and drove from Logan to Utah county. Our first stop... Chris and Ashleigh's had to check on the girls since Jade had been so sick. We were able to spend about 15 mins there. One day we will be able to spend more time. Then off to my grandparents for Hansen's Christmas party. We were able to enjoy some time with grandma and grandpa before the rest of the family arrived. Grandma always cooks the best dinners so we ALWAYS enjoy eating there. We had a GREAT time at the party and watching the 4 kids dance and sing together. They are a hoot and a half. Thank you all for the fabulous Christmas... We have been able to make bugs, build legos, sing new songs, wear ponchos and watch a new show. Thank you!!!!
When all was gone from the party we hiked it to some friends whom we haven't seen since moving. Christmas was always the time of year we got together with the Peery's. We love and miss them very much. The Peery's and us go back a long, long time. Julie and I knew each other forever. Her brother and my dad were best friends. Kennen and Jeff grew up scouting together. Julie and Jeff got married and then Kennen and I got married. It was really funny but it has been an amazing friendship. They have 2 beautiful daughters, that we also love.
That night we spent it with Hansen's. Woke up bright and early and ran to Macey's (can't leave Utah without a couple of cases of beans and corn) Then we hit the road. The weather decided to snow on us the entire trip, so the roads home were rather fun.

This week we were also able to hear Robbie in his school Christmas program. They did a great job singing, playing instruments.

Our ward had their Christmas party also....good food, friends and of course SANTA.

Saturday we went to the museum with some friends. Thanks Jeannette and kids and Tanya and Jack for hanging with us for the day.

Today is also the beginning of our 12 days of Christmas....

We hope all is well with you and your families. Love you!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BECCA!!!!!

Today is my dear friend Becca's birthday. I want her to know how much I love her and how much I miss her. I want you to know Becca how grateful I am to have you in my life and in my boys life.

I am not good with words and truly there are not many that can get me to tear up. I am thankful that Sandy was inspired to send you to my home. I am thankful that you came even though I know you didn't want to. I am thankful that we were able get to know one another and become amazing friends.I am thankful for the spirit that you have and how much you have taught me about the gospel. I am thankful for the time you spent with me and the boys. I am thankful that you listen with all your heart to what we have to say. Even when it doesn't make sense. I am thankful that you have taken my boys as an interest and have listened, played and acknowledged them. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

One of the greatest joys in my life is our friendship... I don't think either of us suspected, when we first met, that we would stand where we do today, sharing the close harmony of our abiding friendship. But we grew together through the days, sharing laughter and tears, thoughts and silence - all the things that have become an unforgettable part of who we are. You have always encouraged me to share myself fully - my hopes, my dreams...my secret pains and sadnesses that I have come to understand better in the light of your concerned understanding. I hope I have reflected back to you, if only in a small way, something of the same. No one knows what path tomorrow will find us walking; but together or apart, I know that I've found in you the lifetime friend I have always wished for, and that the years passing will never change, but only strengthen, our enduring relationship. -Edmund O'Neill

I hope that today and always you will know how much I love and appreciate you.
I hope you have a wonderful day, I pray that the illnesses you have been enduring leaves you quickly. You know that if ever you wanted I would come and get you in a heartbeat. We love you! Hope you have a wonderful birthday, Remember although we are many miles apart we are still close. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to call. We are here for you babe...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BECCA, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.

A WEEK OF THANKSGIVING!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. The boys went to school only 2 days this week which meant lots of time home with mom... :) We had a GREAT time... Thanksgiving day was wonderful. Thank you, Kevin, Tiffany, Kyle, Kaylee, Kambria and Kolbi. Thank you for cooking a wonderful dinner and thank you for the wonderful company.

We have had a fun time playing board games, putting up Christmas, riding 4 wheelers, watching movies. So if any of you would like to come play the boys love playing board games and I myself love playing clue.

I also have to tell you all I have been released from scouts. Sid keeps asking me why I got fired from scouts. "mom what did you do to be fired" The things little kids say is priceless. I love the things out of his mouth. Yes I do have another calling... I just have to tell you all. We have lived here for 16 months and I have had more callings here than I ever did in Utah and we lived there for 11 years. Okay.... the new calling..... teaching in the primary. I will be teaching Sid's class well at least for another month and then I will be getting new kiddos.

I was shocked and a little surprised that I was released. I will take this new calling and do the best that I can with it.

The boys are growing way fast. Kennen is still enjoying scouts and work.

We hope all is going well with you. Have a wonderful week.

2 Weeks?????

Holy Cow!!! It has been 2 weeks since my last post. I am so sorry, but honestly nothing has happened. Sickness, school and scouts. Okay, we did get to celebrate a birthday in there also. So I do have to say..... I have the bestest friends ever..
They are all truly amazing. I felt so loved... I got phone calls, people stopping by, friends taking me to lunch, ice cream etc.... I got amazing gifts... I also had a friend post a blog. Thank you! And Bec, if you knew how much you have helped me in the last 3 years... wow!!!! Thank you all for making my birthday this year very special.

Robbie started off and had a sinus infection. Ding round one........antibiotics
Kennen gets a sinus infection. Ding round two.......antibiotics
Sid gets a sinus infection. Ding round three.....antibiotics....but with Sids antibiotic there is a story. I take him to the doctor, the first thing the nurse asks me is.. He is allergic to amoxicillion I say yes...The doctor comes in does his check up on him and says as he has the prescription pad in hand, he is allergic to amoxicillion right? I said yes he is. So he gives me the prescription. I leave and I begin to drive.. I get a frantic call from the dr. office. Don't fill that medication or you will be in the ER with Sid later tonight. So they said they were going to call in an antibiotic to the pharmacy. When I get to the pharmacy to pick up the medication, they hand me a bottle of stuff. I look at it and I ask.. doesn't this antibiotic contain amoxicillion. The cashier lady says lets ask the pharmacist. She comes out and says yes it does. I came undone.... twice at the dr. office they were told. And when Sid had his reaction I went to the pharmacy and told them. Somehow it didn't make it into their computers. So, They had to call the doctor and get another antibiotic for Sid. I was so done for the day... I am grateful that I was on the ball and asked the question. Or.... We would have been visiting the ER.

So, all is well here. Everyone I hope is on the mend. Robbie is loving scouts again, doesn't hurt that his dad is his new leader. Robbie is doing really well in school. He is working really hard. We are very proud of him.

This year for Thanksgiving, we are staying in Casper. We will be spending the holiday with some wonderful friends of ours. We are so excited to be sharing this wonderful holiday with wonderful people. Thank you Ross family for inviting us to share the holiday with you.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week.... There will be pictures coming. Love you all!

A week gone and don't know where.......

I have no pictures of this week..... It was a week......

Kennen got called out on Monday and really didn't get home until Saturday. He went to Riverton, Worland, Montana, Thermopolis, Sherridon. I don't know if I got all the places but you get the idea.

The boys and I just hung out at home. Jeannette and I took the kids to McDonald's on Monday night then after that I took the boys for haircuts. Robbie cried cause it was to short. Sid loved his..

This week I was able to spend time with some friends. Tiffany and I went shopping on Wednesday and that was a ton of fun. Then Annette and I went to lunch and then shopping on Thursday after play group. Thanks Annette for lunch..

This week I have also had some interesting phone calls... I love phone calls don't get me wrong but the phone calls to inform me of bad news is really hard. I so wanted to drive back to Springville and put my arms around all of those people there. Our ward in Utah has had some bad luck. Sorry guys and remember our prayers are with each of you.

I have found that I love Ross..... So many wonderful things within its walls....

Our friends from Cheyenne came to visit us on Saturday. We had a wonderful visit.

Our yard is almost ready for the winter to come. We have stocked up on Pellets and cut all of our wood, so our heat sources are ready as well. The outside projects are coming to a close and the inside ones will be beginning. I love the changing of the seasons. I am so not sure about how long winter is here, but... we will work through it.

We hope that each of you have a had a good week and the week to come is a wonderful one. We love you all.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Happy Halloween to you all. We hope you had a good one. Halloween night our boys did not get to go trick or treating. Robbie has had the flu since Wednesday night with a fever. So..... We went to Menards, were they got a handful of candy. Then off to Sams Club were they got handfuls of candy, then to walmart where the cute greeter lady says even though your boys are not dressed up would it be okay if they went trick or treating around our store? I said sure, she gave them a bag and then a handful of candy. Everywhere they went through walmart they got a handful of candy so for not going out they got a lot of candy. (yes Robbies fever was gone 24 hours before we took him out in public, so no worries from us) We asked the boys if they wanted to go out and they said "NO". Instead, Sid wanted to hand out candy at the door. Poor kid sat here all night waiting for someone to come. Thank goodness Jeannette brought the kids and the Kelsy brought Elizabeth so he could hand out some candy. He kept asking "why isn't there any costumers mom?" I felt bad. But look at all the candy we have to eat. yummy!!!!

Nothing else has happened this week. Sid had a halloween party at school, Robbie missed his. It has been very cold but the sun decided to bless us with its warmth yesterday and today. YIPPY just in time for the weekend.

House has been cleaned and disinfected so hopefully the other 3 of us won't get the flu bug.

Hope your week ends up being a great one. HAPPY 1st of Novemeber. Oh.... Today would have been my parents anniversary so Happy 35th anniversary to them. This week is also my friend Jeannettes birthday and my grandpa Hansens birthday.. So here is my shout out to them. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

The "deer" hunt

Okay, so this week I have spoken to many of my friends and family who have been hunting. Well, they are not getting anything some are not even seeing anything. I had a brilliant idea.... I walked out my door and I took some great shots for you all. :) The shots are with my camera and not a gun but I thought you would all still enjoy the deer we get to enjoy every single day.

Anyway.... This week, I so don't even remember what happened. The boys had a short week. Monday Sid was out of school so..off to the dentist we go with him. Yes, more teeth work. That poor kid. Robbie is only in school on Mon., Tues., and Weds. and is out on Thursday and Friday. Thursday he gets to enjoy a day with me doing mom things, such as playgroup, cleaning, parent teacher conferences, getting things ready for scouts... HEHEHE I love making him come and do mom things. Friday, we met a friend for lunch. Had an awesome visit, then they came over and so did some other friends and we as adults got to talk while the kids played and played. thank you Annette and Tanya for a great Friday.

Saturday night was our Ward Halloween party. They have a chili cook off, carnival and then the kids get to do trick or treating. The boys have a blast going. We were a little hesitant about going since so many people around these parts have the swine flu. We went and we had a great time. Oh!! and my boys decided to change their halloween costumes. Kids.....

This past week I started physical therapy on my back and my neck. I was so sore that I really thought of stopping. I didn't and I am still going so I guess that is a good thing.

Kennen has worked a lot of hours this past week. I guess they think he needs to make up for the time we were in California. He is a great husband, father and provider. Thank you honey for working such long days for me and the boys. We love ya!

So the weather is changing. Today it is snowing outside. A great day to stay in and drink hot cocoa (which by the way helps fight of the H1N1 flu) and watch movies. Hope you are having a great Sabbath day. Have a wonderful week. Love you all!

VACATION (USS Midway, Legoland, Disneyland, Robbie's birthday)

Hello to you all. We are back from the 11 day vacation and we are trying to get back to a normal routine again. We had a good time our trip, glad we decided to fly instead of drive. We loved the 2 days in Legoland instead of the car. We took a ton of pictures almost 600 to be exact. I will make a slide show of some of them so you can see a glimpse of our trip.

We left Sat. Oct.3, 2009 at 5 am to catch the plane that left at 625 am. We left and all went well until we got to SLC. We changed planes and got going. Well we stopped on the runway for almost 3 hours. After waiting for so long they had to take us back to the gate and add more fuel and then the radio broke and by the time we got back to the runway they had lost our flight plans so they had to get them back into the system. It was a mess. We made it to San Diego finally, late to pick up the rental car. We are off.... First stop USS Midway, the boys love this big boat. So much to see and do. We had a great afternoon there. Off we go to destination number 2, the motel in Carlsbad. We pulled in and thought wow!!! what a nice place. They had the best beds and pillows I have ever slept on. Sunday, we awaken and head to Legoland for the day. Boys had a BLAST!!! We spent all day there and also all day on Monday. We found the best Greek food ever in Carlsbad, can't wait to go back there. Tuesday we woke up and loaded back in the car and off to Disneyland we go. Everyone was waiting for us, we seem to be the slow ones of the bunch. We spent Tuesday through Sunday playing at Disneyland and California Adventure. Thursday night we did the trick or treating which is so much fun.

Sunday was Robbie's birthday. We had a great time going back to both parks and catching the things we didn't do or the things we wanted to do again. I can't believe my baby is 10 that is so crazy.

Monday we flew home and yet again had a delay in SLC we were supposed to be in Casper at 9 pm and didn't arrive until 11 pm.

All in all we had a great trip. Thank you to Mom, Jack, Shad, Jenny, Drew, Emma and Luke.

A Hat Week

It has been a good week, we have made hats. YIPPY!!!!

So that sums up our week. Hee Hee Just kidding. Robbie has had a good week with school and scouts. He is excited that soon he will be a webelos. The best thing he says is his dad is the leader. I can't believe he is going to be 10 soon. WOW!

Sid has been a good helper around the house and sewing. He likes to go pick out material with me which is fun. He is doing well in school.

Kennen is still busy trying to get the yard ready for winter. (which I don't think is possible, but don't tell him that)

Really, not much excitement happening in these parts. I guess no news is good news sometimes. Hope you all have a wonderful week. This week there are pictures of all of the things we have been working on. Love you all.

A quilt top week

This week has been a good week. The weather has been perfect, had a great time sewing and shopping and hanging out.

Kennen and I finished the gates out in the back yard. (sorry pics will come it decided to rain today so everything is super muddy) We are now working on the garage door. Yippy it finally came in. The grass is looking awesome and green. The inside of the house..... WELL.... that is another story.

Robbie had a field trip this week. They went to Fort Laramie and to the Oregon Trail Ruts. He didn't want to go, but he went and ended up having "an okay time". Boys... Gotta love them. He is doing well in school and is counting down the days to go to Disneyland to celebrate his 10th birthday. (can you believe he is turning 10???) I must be old.

Sid is a hoot to have around. Yes, in the picture he made a tinkertoy microphone and he also made a guitar from the tinkertoys. It is awesome. He and I have fun together. He is also excited to go to Disneyland but says he won't ride on any of the rides. So we will have to see.

This week I have been sewing and loving it. I have made some sun hats for the boys for Disneyland and making more for my niece and nephews also. (we are all going Shad, Jenny, Emma, Drew, Luke, mom and Jack) Yep all 11 of us. I also made a quilt top for the homeless youth center this week. I do have pics of the quilt cause I took it in all ready so I wanted to share with you.

So as you are sewing you are left to thinking. I love thinking and lately it has been a welcome thing. I thought about my life and how it is so much like the quilt top. How each thing I have done and each person I have encountered has made a piece of my quilt. I truely have an amazing quilt. I hope that I can keep adding to my quilt to make it a priceless piece of art.

I hope that you have a wonderful week. Laurie I promise I will take pictures of the grass, gates, doors, hats for the next post. I may just have to post in the middle of the week. Love you all.

100 posts

Wow!!!! I have posted 100 blogs. How time flies when you are having fun.

We are all doing well, the weather is changing and fall is in the air.

This week has been a good week. The boys are doing really well at school. We had a back to school night for Robbie and his teacher is so cute. He really likes her, that is such a good thing. They go on a lot of field trips here in the 4th grade which has been interesting. Robbie thinks it is cool that so far they have gone on 1 field trip per week. This week they will be going to Laramie (3 hours away) to do fort Laramie and then the ruts. They have to meet at the school at 645am and will not return until 6pm.

Sid is still liking school and his teachers are also really neat. He likes playing and he is learning something everyday. He came home from school the other day and told me "mom you blow your nose so much cause you have a lot of mucus" It was pretty funny. Then he tells me this morning that "Jesus sent him her to be silly and to make people happy" I love the things the 5 year old says.

Kennen has been working hard on the gates for the backyard and also working on cement and grass. He is always so busy. The best thing is I like being out helping him. We make quite the team. I mix the cement and he pours it and smooths it out. It is AWESOME!!!

100 post I hope that you all will keep reading for many more. Love you all.

Funeral and flat tire (this week is all about F's)

We got a call on Tuesday telling us that Great Grandma Bessie passed away. At which time we were debating on if we should make the trek to Price, Ut. for the Funeral. Well.... we talked and had to call Robbie's teacher (I was supposed to drive 5 kids up the mountain and spend the day there with them) I got that all taken care of and Thursday night we are off, we are on our way to Utah. We leave Casper at 7pm and get to Rock Springs at 11pm. We find a motel and sleep and wake up at 5am and get back on the road again. This time however we went through Flaming Gorge, Vernal, Duchesene, and into Price. It is very pretty, but also very switchbacked and you use the brakes a lot. We made it... Just in time for the family prayer and closing of the casket. The funeral was nice, the cemetary was good. (It is way hot, after being here for a year Utah seems very hot) After lunch and stuff we pack back into the suburban and head to Utah County. Okay the ride between Price and Spanish Fork used to seem like forever but holy cow it was fast. Once again thanks to Wyoming driving long distance is normal. We went and got some necessities from Maceys and off to the farm we go. We spent the night with my grandparents and had a good visit. The next day we went and seen mom and Jack then met up with Lynn and Chris at University mall for ice cream then off we went.

I-80 for all of you who have kept up on our travels on I-80 know about our issues there. First trip was the radiator, fan, etc... We have also had 3 flat tires in one trip... window wipers and the list goes on of our travels on I-80, well this time was the same okay maybe worse. We were in the suburban (new), driving on I-80 (bad luck road), and the front tire blows. Thankfully Kennen was driving cause I probably would have rolled the car. He was having a hard time keeping it on the road. He finally got the car under control and got it off of the road. Well...the damage is front bumper, paint on the hood, running board, wheel well.... YIKES!!!! At which time I start crying. We haven't even got the garage door here and fixed yet and now we have the suburban.

Kennen asks me whats wrong and I came undone. I told him that we were no longer driving to Disneyland in a month that we were flying and we were not flying out of Denver we were flying out of Casper. He said well that will be expensive (last trip he flew to Salt Lake cost 700 dollars) I said I didn't care. By the time we got home I think he thought that I had forgotten and all was well. We got home and finally in bed at 2am and I was awake at 7am checking on airfare. I finally found a good deal. YIPPY!!!! no driving for us we only have to drive 5 minutes to the Casper International Airport. I found out gas prices and worked it out and we are actually spending the same amount of money. So flying here we come. The boys are excited. :)

So here our week for you. Funeral, Farm, Flat tire, Flying It is our "F" week. We hope you all have a great week.

What a week!!!

So, I have no pictures of our week. It has been a week that is for sure. Between, sickness, tending and sickness again. Sid was feeling better than got the flu, I hate cleaning up throw up and doing the laundry from said illness. I was concerned on what to do with him since Kennen had to work on Saturday and I had to be at a scout thing at the park on Saturday. Thankfully it was a 24 hour bug and he was feeling better by Saturday morning.

We went to Cheyenne to visit our friends David and MaryAnn. We had a great lunch, went to the park and then went back to their house and David and Robbie played throwing a cow wii game. At this point Kennen is getting pale in color so we leave. Kennen has the cold chills and way bad body aches, we turn up the heat and he wraps himself in a wool blanket and is still cold. So.. family member number 2 down with the flu.

I really don't even know what else we have done. I guess the days are getting shorter and since school is in not much happens.

We sold the car..... Ordered a new garage door....... poured some cement...... and watched kids..... that sums up our week.

So for all of you moms out there, how is it that when your house is spotless not one person shows up to your door. But, when it looks like a tornedo has come through you get visitors all day???? I am a little puzzled. Do people know??? Our house was clean all week then on Thursday night I so don't know what happened.. You guessed it Friday morning and day we had one visitor after another so the house never got picked up until Saturday. :)

We hope all is well with you.

A new school year

Hello to you all.... It has been a week. Sid is just barely now starting to feel like a human again, I wish I could say the same. School started on Monday. Robbie seems to really be enjoying it at his new school and with his new friends. Sid was supposed to start school on Wednesday but by doctor orders and the fact he was still in bed not moving we kept him home and he will start tomorrow.

Robbie is in the 4th grade and is attending Paradise Valley Elementary this year. His teacher is Mrs. Wise. Sid will be attending The Child Development Center of Natrona County for his 2nd year and his teacher this year will be Miss Kay.

This past Friday we had the cubscout Raingutter Regatta and a great time. Robbie and his boat took 2nd place. Which is always fun. That was about our adventure for the week.

As for me I am just hanging out at home. I will be watching Jeannettes 3 children every other week. It will be a fun adventure.

Kennen is still busy with work and projects around the house. He has begun to feel a little off. I think the no sleeping for the last 12 days has put a damper in his system. I myself am doing okay, just really tired. I think moms are better prepared for that than dads are. I think he has gained a new respect for all of the sleepless nights I have encountered that I have not awakened him. :)

As for that, we are all doing well. We are trying to be the best that we can and I think that is what has been asked of us. We love you all!! Have a wonderful week.
