Snow days

This week has been fairly uneventful. Wow how did this happen? The boys got grounded from tv, movies and video games so... they had to find other things for entertainment. The usually ended up with board game or a card game. It has been fun playing with them. This week we had 1 sick day where both boys stayed at home for the day and we had a nice relaxing day hanging in bed. LOVE those days. My ear really started hurting so I ended up going to the doctor for that. If it is not cleared withing 2 weeks I get to have tubes put in. YUCK!! I did not realize adults had tubes put in their ears. Always learning something new. Sid and I went to play group on Thursday which was held at the aquatic center. Love to go swimming. After school on Thursday and Friday we stayed late and was able to play on the playground for awhile. The weather has been beautiful. In the 40's which is really nice. (I would have never said 40's were nice while living in Utah)

As for the title of the blog.... This week Sat. january 30, 2010 was snow days for the cub scouts. Snow days is where you go up on the mountain and build a snow sculpture out of crappy snow. You need gallons and gallons of water to make it so it is even workable. This year the theme was "a 100 years of scouting" So the boys came up with the idea of building a truck with with the wolf, bear and bobcat in the back of the truck and the poster said "a 100 years and still truckin'" This year we made chili while there and ate that and hot chocolate. The weather was perfect. But, after a long day playing on the mountain and running on uneven, fall through when you step snow every one came home tired and sore. Poor little Sid had a rough night last night with muscles sore and everything. He is such a trooper.
Robbie was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting about snow days. He did a really good job. Although he is very serious and shows no emotion. It was pretty funny. He had to inform all that his dad burnt the chili and the counselor that asked him to speak yesterday while up at snow days was laughing so hard on the stand cause he told Robbie to say that. It was pretty funny.

I guess we did do something this week after snow days we came home put things away then we went bowling as a family then out to dinner. YIPPY!!! Don't you just love family time and the boys actually won Kennen and I at bowling, but they got the bumpers and when it was our turn the bumpers went down. Not fair... Next time I will make sure Kennen and I get bumpers up as well. =)

So to explain a couple of the pictures. Sid has a little store set up in a corner of the front room. He sales his goods for a penny a piece. If you come over I am sure you will be asked if you want to buy a sticker or a bandage or something else out of his store. Then the other picture is of Sid in the tub. He found these little things that will stick to his body if they are wet. Last night he kept yelling for Kennen to come and look when Kennen went in he came out laughing and asking for the camera. This is what he seen when he went to look. Sid is a goof.. Good thing or life would be boring.

We also want to Wish Grandma Hansen a very Happy Birthday and also Uncle Jon a Happy Birthday this last week. We love you both.

Hope you have a great week.

TIME OUT!!!!!

This week has been and interesting week. Can I just say I LOVE time outs. I know that sounds funny and let me explain.... I love that if life is going crazy and spinning out of control and if things have happened to you or to the ones you love, you can step back and put yourself in timeout. Don't you just love it?? I find it a wonderful thing to be able to read and to pray and to spend time alone to contemplate what to do or how to say something or just to be able spend that time talking with your spouse or children.. So on my time out days this week... Sid and I went to The Science Zone. It was a lot of fun. Then since Robbie wasn't able to go I pulled him out of school a little early on Friday and the 3 of us went and had a blast. I bought a year pass so I can't wait to keep using it. We spent over 3 hours there playing and having so much fun. I also went and bought a new book I am so excited to keep reading it. So far I have learned I have clutter in my life and now I get to learn how to get rid of that clutter. So EXCITING for me. I know it sounds lame but, look who is talking here. If any of you are interested the book is called YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE.

Lets see what happened this week.... We had a stepping stone, Sid lost his first tooth and it was awful for him (1/28/10).. He was so excited to have a loose tooth then the tooth came out in the middle of a popcorn ball with blood gooshing everywhere. It was pretty sad he was crying hysterically. We got the bleeding stopped put the tooth in a ziplock bag and put it in his "tooth fairy pillow" We all get ready for bed, read our stories say our prayers and off to slumber land we go. UNTIL the 5 year old decides at 630 am to wake up crying hysterically again cause the tooth fairy didn't come. The little punk didn't even check the pillow just started crying and woke us all up. I got him all settled down and we talked a few minutes, I got up out of his bed and checked the pillow and started laughing so I told him. I will give you 50 cents for your tooth if I can have what the tooth fairy left. He said well.... He finally looked and started screaming "the tooth fairy came the tooth fairy came... I got two dollars.. I love the tooth fairy" Silly, silly kid.

The next night we also had another tooth episode.... This time without drama thankfully... This time Robbie lost a tooth eating a piece of bread. He has lost many so his reaction wasn't quit as fun as Sids. So to say the least we have had the tooth fairy at our house twice in two nights. GO TOOTH FAIRY!!!!

Sid had a birthday party on Saturday this week also, so Robbie and I went with and we joined in the fun of bowling.

The weather has been perfect, the boys and I went to the park and played some baseball and some basketball the other day after school. I so can't wait to be able to spend more time outside.

This week also for scouts was spent outside, Kennen and I took the WEBELOS on a 3 mile hike and service project. They cleaned up the garbage on the river parkway trail. Then we walked... Wow!!! It was a little chilly but it was fun. I can't believe how far 3 miles is. I need to start walking that more, I was a little sore afterwards.

We hope that you all had a wonderful week. I have posted pictures of some of the events of our week and also a picture of the "snuggle" from last week.

Thank Goodness!!!!

Thank Goodness for Sunday's. Thank goodness for the opportunity that we have to go to church and get that spiritual dose of medication that we need. Although, most of my Sunday is with 4 year olds and wiping snotty noses... I still appreciate the opportunity that we have to go to church. I love it when the 4 year olds scream out what I have just taught them (I know not the most reverent) but what do you do when it is nearly 4 in the afternoon and they are all tired? You stand up and sing out loud and crazy to "do as I am doing" Okay, that is just my day today... The rest of the week.

We have just been busy around the house, Kennen has been working on the basement. Looking awesome!!!! Have I ever told you all how much I love that man?

Robbie got his report card this week and he is doing fantastic. He is getting great grades, his reading lexile is still top in his class. (which by the way I think reading lexiles are stupid. One day I will have to tell you all about them) He was able to turn in his Science Fair project and on Monday they begin their presentations. He is advancing in scouts and he loves it.

Sid, is getting way to big. My baby has a loose tooth and we are waiting for it to fall out. He keeps asking his dad if it is loose enough to pull. It is only hanging on by a little but that one little side does not want to let go. He has grown so much just recently, all of his clothes are way to small. He loves to read, draw, and his imagination is out of this world.

Kennen has worked super long hours the last week. We have hardly seen him. The roads between Gillette, Riverton, Worland and Rawlins has seen him more than we have.

As for myself.. I went and observed some kindergarten classes for Sid. I think I have decided were to put him in school and I also think I have chosen a teacher. I am praying that my decision is the right one. On Friday morning I decided that I was going to take a drive to Cheyenne. So I pulled Robbie out of school a little early and off we went. We got to MaryAnn's a little after 4 and we left her house at 8 and got home about 10:30 ish. It was fun, thanks for having us and thanks for the yummy pizza and cokes. She was having a party and I wasn't going to miss this one. YIPPY!!!!

I was also able to go to lunch with some friends this week to celebrate my cute friend Tiffany's birthday. I love girl time. I love to go just chat without kids, okay Kolbi is with us but still she is way to stinking cute so it is good.
Thank you girls for the fun afternoon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIFFANY!!!!!

That is our week in a nut shell, I have cute pictures but... can't get them to load I will try later. The pictures are of the boys snuggling together watching a movie it was way stinking cute.

Love ya all.

-15 but feels like -33?????????

So the Natrona County School District thinks it is fun for the parents to have the kids out of school for 3 or 4 weeks at Christmas. I say blahhh to that. I would much rather have the kids out in May earlier or not go to school the first of Aug. My reasoning... What can you do when it is so dang cold? Yes the title of this blog has been the temps. here this last week. You can't go outside and play, you are stuck inside and all is going crazy. Thankfully, Sid's school started back up this last week so he has been able to go to school and get out. We also went to play group on Thursday, which wasn't long enough... We worked on Robbies science fair project and he finished it. YIPPY!!!!!! And the best part of the week.. My cute friend calls me up on Sat. morning and asks me what are the plans for the day I told her nothing and she says why don't you talk to Kennen when he gets home from work and go out just the two of you. So Kennen gets home, he isn't so excited about the new plan presented but the boys want to go play with the Ross' so he says what are we going to go do? I say.... I don't care... so I called Tiffany back and we took the boys over. First time since moving we have a date night. WOW!!! We went to dinner just the two of us. Then we are boring and we went grocery shopping just us no kids asking or begging for things. It was so AWESOME!!!! Thank You Tiffany... Can't wait to have your kids over..

So that is our week.. Thank goodness Monday will be here tomorrow and school starts and schedules will be back in place.. We hope that you all have had a great week. Love ya! oh and here is Robbie's science fair project pictures.

A Week of Catch up......

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!! We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas season.

The boys had a wonderful Christmas. We have had an adventure since they have been out of school. We had some visitors come visit us, which was nice. The boys enjoyed Nan and Pop for 3 days. They enjoyed going to the motel and swim everynight they were here. Thanks for coming to visit.

The boys by the time they go back to school will be home 3 weeks.. YIKES!!!! We have watched a lot of movies, and played lots of games, Kennen took the boys on a ride in a tube behind the 4 wheeler. They thought that was a blast.

We have also had many things going on.. Grandma feel and broke her hip, had to have surgery on that.. then had to have her pacemaker fixed with a surgery before she was able to move to a rehab home. She finally made it and seems to be doing well. I have been on some medication that made me so sick.. got it changed so now I am feeling human again. :)

Robbie has to do his first science fair project, he is making a glue putty thing. It made the house stink but it is all good. It is for school so all is well.

We hope this finds all well and hope you have a wonderful week. Love you all.

First Five

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!

What I create will be made with you in mind and for you.

It'll be done this calendar year.

You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Or I may make you something yummy to eat when I see you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! However, I *do* promise that it will be more than just a handmade card!

I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

What's the the catch you ask?: You have to post this as well and make stuff for others as well. We all can make stuff! With any luck I'll respond quickly so that I can get on your list of people to make things for.
