HAPPY BIRTHDAY SID YOU ARE 5

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BABY. I CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS 5 YEARS OLD TODAY.

SID IS SO MUCH FUN TO HAVE AROUND, I CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE OUR LIVES WITHOUT HIM. HE IS ALWAYS SO FULL OF ENERGY AND LIFE. HE MAKES US LAUGH ALL THE TIME. HE SAYS THE FUNNIEST THINGS.

SID IS NOT SERIOUS AT ALL WHICH ADDS A LITTLE FLAVOR INTO OUR MIX. AND MIND YOU HE STILL DOESN'T SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT MOST NIGHTS. HE HAS 4 THINGS THAT HE HAS TO HAVE IN BED WITH HIM (snuggle water, snuggle bear, cpt. cody the eagle, and coda the alligator) WHAT A KID AND WE CAN NOT GO TO BED IF HE DOESN'T HAVE ALL OF THEM. :) IF YOU ARE WONDERING ABOUT NAMES OF THE SLEEPING THINGS CPT. CODY IS OFF OF STAR WARS AND CODA IS THE BEAR OFF OF BROTHER BEAR.

HE LOVES SCHOOL, HE LOVES FRIENDS, HE LOVES MOST OF ALL HIS BROTHER AND WANTS TO DO WHATEVER HE IS DOING. HE IS TENDER HEARTED AND LOVES TO GIVE KISSES AND HUGS AND LIKES TO SNUGGLE. HE LIKES TO PLAY PRETEND, LATELY HE IS "BOLT"

I PUT TOGETHER A SLIDE SHOW OF HIS LAST YEAR STARTING WITH HIS BIRTHDAY 1 YEAR AGO. SO PLEASE ENJOY SID'S PAST YEAR. WE HAVE HAD A REALLY GOOD AND FUN YEAR.

Memorial Week and weekend

This is a day late and I am sorry. We were out of town so I didn't get to blog about our trip last night. So here we go.

On May 19, 2009 we had a balloon launch in memory of my dad. It has been 9 years since he left us physically. The boys thought that was great to write messages on the balloons and let them go to Heaven so grandpa could read them. It was actually a fun thing, I think I will continue that new tradition on.

The weather was nice and then it decided to turn rainy on us. We did get a break from rain on Saturday evening so the boys decided they wanted to have a fire and roast marshmellows. So, we head outside and start our fire, roast some marshmellows and just hang out. Robbie decides he wants to do an experiment so he goes inside and gets a pan and adds whatever to it and puts it on the fire to "see" what will happen. Sid decides he needs to pee outside for all to see. Never a dull moment at our house with two boys.

Sunday morning we load up in the van early and off we go. We go exploring. We went to Wright Wyoming and found Kennen's old house that they lived in when he was way little. Then we went to Gillette Wyoming and got some lunch and then off to Devil's Tower we go. Devils Tower is AWESOME. The drive is so beautiful. If you are going to drive parts of Wyoming in the day that part is way pretty it is part of the Black Hills Forest need I say more??? The rest of Wyoming can be driven in the dark and you wouldn't miss nothing. (exceptions: Yellowstone, Devils Tower, and between Newcastle and the South Dakota border). The boys thought that Devils Tower was pretty cool. We seen Buffalo, an open pit coal mine, huge machines, an antelope nursing a baby. All on our drive to and from. How cool. I so wish I would have taken pics of the Buffalo though.

Anyway, I hope you all have a safe and fun Memorial Day. Hope your week is filled with fun and joy. I know ours will be. It is the last week of school YIPPY!!!!!!!! And it is Sid's Birthday on Wednesday. Wow, how time flies. Love you all.

IN MEMORY OF MY DAD

So, today is 9 years since my dad passed away. I just wanted to write a short blog about this amazing man.

Oh, how I see him in so many things my boys say and do. Sid the most.

My dad: my dad was and always will be the most amazing man. (Kennen is close) He was my best friend, the one who I turned to A LOT. He helped me out of so many situations when he didn't have to. He taught me to love those around me and serve with all of my heart. He taught me that you don't have to sit back and watch that I could stand up and get involved.

He helped so many people, he loved so many people. He did all of this and was there for my brother and I no matter what activity we were doing. He never missed anything.

Dad, today is my reminder of how precious life is and how I need to take it a little slower and enjoy my boys while they are young. I know you are watching over us, I know that you would you so love these two boys of mine. They are so fun. You are spoken of very often in our home. Your memory will alway live on in us. I love you dad!!!!

Today, starts a new tradition. Since we are close to Yellowstone, so we are still in the same state that part of my dad is. We are going to launch balloons in his honor. I can't put flowers out, not close enough.

If any of you have memories of my dad will you please write them down to me so that I can copy them off for the boys. Thank you!!!!

Interesting Week

So this was an interesting week. It is always crazy I think when school time is winding down. This week was just a little bit more crazy.

We had all of our normal things which are way good. But we got thrown for a loop on Thursday night.

It all started as a normal scout night, we ate got ready for scouts and left. But......When we got home the house stunk to high heaven. I open the front door to air it out, it starts freezing us out so I close the door and the house promptly starts to stink again. I call the fire department and they come out and do Natural gas testing and there is natural gas in the house. YIKES!!!!! so they go around and take everything apart to see where it is coming from and then they call the gas company. ( So I went to looking at 3 way good looking fireman to 1 not so hot looking gas guy.) He does the testing and can not find the leak anywhere in our house. He says you have it in here but it isn't coming from your house. Okay, I think that is good but how is it getting into our house????? Also that morning had to have the furnace guy out to fix a leak that the furnace was causing. Well, he fixed it and the leak got worse...... So had to call him back out on Friday.

I got my haircut on Wednesday I really only wanted it trimmed. The lady so screwed it up, so I had to go back on Friday and the girl who fixed it did a good job but now it is short again. Should have taken pictures while it was long.

So today, (Sunday) was beautiful... We played outside. We went on a walk along the North Platte River and sat at the bank throwing rocks in and it was just fun. Came home and started a fire and roasted hotdogs and marshmellows. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

Hope you all had a good week, and hope your week to come is amazing.... Love you!!!1

TRACK,SPANISH AND MOTHERS DAY

Hello to you all, sorry this is a day late but we went out of town for Mothers day. YIPPY!!!! It was so much fun. I will tell you about that after the rest of our week.

On Monday, Robbie had track day. Sid and I went and watched him run at NC's track (that is one of the high schools here) and he did amazing. It was way cold sometimes it was raining, hailing, blowing. It was crazy weather that day. Anyway.... He ran the 50 yard dash which he took 2nd place. Next race was the 100 yard dash, He took 5th place. The last race was the batton relay... His team took 2nd place. WAY TO GO ROBBIE!!!!!! At that point it was lunch break and Sid and I went to lunch and then I took Sid to school. I meet back up with Robbie for the field events. They did basketball, tug a war, potato sac races, long jump, high jump, soccer kicks, softball throw, obstical course, jump roping and if I forgot something I am sorry. It was a long day and busy day. Robbie was exhausted by the time he was done. I totally forgot to get Sid thankfully, I have awesome friends who text me and call me to go get him. Problem was it was 315 and I wouldn't have made it to the other side of town by 330 (which really should have been there at 3) So I called Tammy and she went and got him for me. Thank you Tammy.

On Wednesday was the Spanish program at Robbie's school. So I took Sid to school Tammy and I went and did a vitamin d treatment and then off to Robbie's school I go. Tammy picked Sid up this day also. What will I ever do next year when she has moved? The Spanish teacher had put together a cute program that involved all of the classes. They each sang a song in spanish which was cute.

Thursday, Friday must have been uneventful or at least not so excited. I did clean the house on Friday. OH I remember. I went and exercised with Jeannette and Stacy, and I was so sore when we got done. I really thought they would have to take me to the hospital. My little heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to jump right on out. And Thursday was play group...

Saturday, we hung out at home until Kennen got off of work then we went out clothes shopping for mothers day. Then out to dinner we go. Then we decide that we are going to South Dakota. So at 630 Sunday morning off we go. First stop is Jewel cave... We got there at 1015am (okay not first stop, had potty stops on the way) and the tour started at 10 bummer we missed it by 15 mins. that stinks the next tour isn't for almost 3 hours so in the car we are again. Next stop, Cosmo's (Rapid City) It is a little attraction that defines gravity. It is pretty cool. Look at all of our pics.... Next stop is lunch, then off to Reptile Gardens.. AWESOME little place, and since it was mothers day I got in free and they also gave everyone that came through the doors a free season pass. Can you say right on... next stop a little town called Keystone got some yummy homemade fudge and carmel there then off to Mountain Mushmore (Sids words) Mount Rushmore. We love it there. It is so beautiful and peaceful, I don't know if I will ever loose my awww at it. From there we went to Custer got dinner and then headed for home. We had an amazing day and Hope you all did as well.

Have a great week!!!

3rd grade music program and bear award

This week has been a Robbie week. Robbie had his 3rd grade program on Monday night which was fun to go and see. Sid did well through most of it at the very end he wanted to go out and play on the play ground. Robbie did well, he actually sang and he played all of the instruments that he was asked to play. Robbie also received his Bear award for scouting. We are very proud of him and all that he has done to receive this award.

Sid has just been Sid, nothing to exciting with him. I did purchase a movie "the berenstein bears" since we don't get tv we watch a lot of movies. I found it on a shopping trip to the mall for $3.99 at Ross. He has loved watching it. Now if I could only find super why and some of the other pbs shows.

Kennen is working lots and lots. I guess it is good, I mean he does have a job. It is still really hard for me. I am not used to having him gone from 5 or 6 am to 6 or later pm. We seen him on Thursday and then not again until Saturday. It is still hard for the boys to have mom around all of the time. It is way hard at night as night time routines get messed up and mom has to read to both boys and do all of the stuff alone. I do have to say we are getting better at it.

As for myself I am doing well. One of my friends and I have decided that we needed to have some vitamin d treatment sessions. So we started that this last week and oh how heavenly it was. Can not wait until this week.

We hope that this finds everyone well. Hope you all have a wonderful week.
