15 year anniversary!

Yesterday marked 15 years of marriage of us.  :)   this post should have been done then, but...   We decided to take a trip for our anniversary.  I have lots of pictures so later today or tomorrow I will post pictures, as for now I will give a recap.   On Monday we hit 5 dams (pathfinder dam, cortez dam, semiano dam, alcova dam and grey reef dam)  We also did the dinosaur trail, the trail around pathfinder and then we hiked Independence Rock.  We did lots and lots of hiking that day.  :)   Then on Tuesday we got up and went to Rapid City.  On Tuesday we hit Reptile Gardens and played there for the day and the went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  Wednesday we woke, ate breakfast and headed off to Cabelas.  (thank you Rapid City for having one) Then from there we went to the air and space museum just outside of Rapid City.  That was AWESOME!!!  We got to go on the Air Force Base and see the missile launch site..  super cool!!!   then we decided to make a big loop home..   Off to the Badlands we go.  :)   On the way we kept seeing the signs for wall drug and so we stopped there and spent hours...   Then..  It was off to the Badlands.  It was GORGEOUS!!!!!   Then we had an adventure coming home.  :)  Love adventures..   It got Kennen and I laughing so hard.   For those of you who know every anniversary since moving to Wyoming has been on I 80  so we didn't want to hit an interstate so all the back roads we took.  We got home at 12:30/1 am this morning.  Went through some pretty areas, some not so pretty,  some stinky, and all with no place to stop to eat..  So we finally got a little something from a gas station in Lusk Wyoming at 10 pm..  hahaha   The boys didn't complain.  They did really well on this trip.

I can't believe that we have been married for 15 years.  What a FUN adventure we have been on.  I am thankful for my best friend and my eternal companion.  I am thankful for the laughter he brings to our home. (okay, another story..   while at Reptile Gardens, all the kids kept looking at Kennen and you could tell they were trying really hard not to stare and laugh..  Kennen has grown his chops out and the kids there thought it was so funny..  So...  Kennen played it up..  I am so glad he can laugh..  )

Thank you Kennen!!!  Thank you for all you do for me and for our boys.  Thank you for your love and support...  I can't wait to see what the rest of our lives bring  ADVENTURE TIME!!!...    Love you!!!!

Lots of pictures.. :)

Okay..  sorry for all of the pictures..  I will try and play catch up, up to today's date.  This first picture is of Fort Fetterman..  We went there when my mom was in town.  It was one of the stopping points on the trail.  It was a very interesting place to visit.  I love History.  It has been fun learning more.  :)
This is Sid in his scout shirt heading off to his first scout meeting.  :)   Go Sid!!!   He loves scouts!!!
This picture is at Natural Bridge..  We also went there while my mom was here visiting.  It was Kennen's very first time there.  :)  We had so much fun playing in the water.
This next picture is of Robbie climbing a tree at Natural Bridge.  He is turning into such a handsome young man.  How I love this boy.  Oh, oh, oh, oh..  Do you see the smile???  showing teeth.  :)
This picture is of Sid climbing a tree at Natural Bridge..   He is such a cutie..
 This is my handsome husband!!!
I took the boys ice blocking on June 26, 2012 for the very first time.  They had a BLAST!!!  Why I never thought of taking them before is beyond me.  We will for sure be doing that again.

This picture is of Robbie and I on June 29, 2012..  We took an unexpected trip and met up with some of my friends from high school whom I had not seen in 18 years.  We had such a fun time hanging with Christina and her 4 kiddos.  We for sure can NOT wait another 18 years to hook up.
This picture is of Christina and I...   Isn't she a doll??
Here is Sid hanging out with us.  :)

T'ann was able to also meet up with us on Friday night and Saturday.  Thank you Christina for a fun filled time.  Thank you Aunt T'Ann for spoiling and loving on my boys.  :)   We for sure need to make a "meet up" a yearly or every 6 month get together.  With any others that would like to join.  :)  The more the marry I always say.
Since returning home........    We really haven't done a thing..   There has been a fire in Glenrock so the smoke in the mornings are nasty..  Yesterday on the 4th of July it was so thick you could cut it with a knife.  We stayed inside all day long..  It was bothering Sid a lot.    We live in the only county in Wyoming that does NOT allow fireworks..  which bites...   We did go watch the city fireworks last night..  For today (Thursday)  We have our movie day and it is raining outside...  We are still praying for rain to go to Utah to help with the fires there and also in Colorado.   We will be cleaning the house and just hanging low.  Wishing you a very happy Thursday!
P.S.   On June 26, 2012...  Sid received his Bobcat award..   He was so super excited.  :)

THE PONY EXPRESS

I am so very thankful for the opportunities that I have been able to share with the boys since moving to Wyoming.  This is another one that not many people can say they have been a part of.  As most of you know we do the summer museum passport.  Yesterday June 19, 2012 we went to Fort Caspar Museum.  While we were there they announced that the Pony Express rider would be there in 30 minutes.  I was curious and asked what was going on...  Well..  They were doing the re-enactment of the ride, and Fort Caspar was an actual stop on the Pony Express trail.  How cool is that???    So we went to the gathering spot (the actual spot where they would have stopped years ago)  and waited for the rider to come in.  This first picture is of another horse and rider waiting for the switch off.  Just like they would have done on the real trail.
This second picture is also of the horse and rider waiting for the switch..  I just really wanted to get a picture of the back of their jackets.  :)
This picture is the rider riding to the spot.  When she arrived they didn't say a word..  switch the "mail" bags from her horse to his horse.
Here the bags are switched he got some quick instruction from the guy who was following with the horse trailer..   And off he went..  The entire process was not even 2 mins.
It was such an amazing experience to be able to watch this and having the boys see this happen as we have talked about the Pony Express many times in our studies on the pioneers and such.   Once again...   Another thankful moment for living on the "trails"   Love from Casper Wyoming...
