14 years... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

I can't believe it was 14 years ago that we got married.   What a wild ride we have had.    I am going to start off by telling about our wedding day.  Ready, set,  go....     We were married in the Manti Temple, so the night before my entire family went and stayed in a motel since we had to be to the temple at 8 am.   That night we ate at someplace in Manti and my uncle and I had the chicken fried steak dinner.  That probably wasn't the wisest choice since both of us got sick.  The next morning I went to the temple with wet hair, no makeup and throwing up.  It was AWESOME!!   The cute little lady helping me brought me a garbage can, saltine crackers and some water.  Like I said, it was a memorable day.   We make it through the ceremony without anything way bad happening.  We get pictures taken all was going well..  (other than my hair wasn't done and I had no make up and I was throwing up)    We head back to Price to get ready for the luncheon, ring ceremony, reception.  We get there and I go get my hair done,  I put on make up and just barely make it for the luncheon.  (no I don't eat, still not feeling hot)   We have the ring ceremony and then the reception...   The reception just begins and the AC broke in the building we were in so we propped open the doors.    There was a back drop behind our wedding cake and Kennen's cousin decided to walk behind the back drop and she hit it knocking it over onto our cake..  The crystal temple on the top was shattered, the cake all over...   (it had to be redone for the next night for the other reception)   At that time  I didn't know if I should cry or laugh.   Kennen was probably wondering what kind of crazy person he just married.   We left the reception,  early with a line still there.  (so if you were there and I wasn't I am sorry)   We went to the hotel and finally crashed..  My poor husband slept on the couch and me in the bed.  (different story there)   When we returned to my parents house my dad asked how things were Kennen said he was tired dad asked why he said cause I made him sleep on the couch.  (yes true love)    My dad laughed and laughed and laughed...   That day we had another reception in Payson so off we go..  On a mission to find a new cake top and everything else before the next go around happened.  (yet again another day without food)    We find a cake top..  the cake gets fixed..  I have awesome friends and family that went to both receptions.   After the Payson reception we spent 3 hours trying to get lard and food off the car.  It was nasty (thanks to Paula's friends who decorated my car)   We had reservations for a night in SLC  so we headed that way since our flight was at 6 am the next morning.   We ended up on the run way at the salt lake international airport and then finally found the motel at 3 am..   gave us 2 hours to sleep.  whoosh....   off to the airport we go  (still no food)   we load the plane and I start throwing up again..  my poor husband...   We land in California,  we go to the Disneyland hotel and we can't check in yet so we go over to the park and we sit on a bench for a few hours eating and watching people then we go check in and both of us slept for hours and hours...    We had a wonderful honeymoon and if we made it through the first 24 hours of our marriage we can make it through anything...

Since that first couple of days Kennen has been by my side through so much..  My grandmothers death, my miscarriage, my dad's death,  2 births,  many surgeries,   and now with the kids many other adventures.   Thank you Kennen for sticking by me and our little family.  I love you more today than I did 14 years ago.     Happy Anniversary!!!

Allergies, allergies, allergies

So I feel like a bad mom..   My little munchkin has such bad allergies,  the whites of his eyes swell up and over the color parts of his eyes.  They are puffy and swollen under his eyes,  this year they have also add the reddness and the goopy to them.   I took him to the pediatrician (our old one moved and this new guy took over the office) and he told me that it was a sinus infection and gave me an antibiotic that Sid couldn't have because he is allergic to penicillin.  So a friend of mine got him into the eye dr.  He told me they were allergies and gave me a prescription for 2 different eye drops (70.00 later)  I walk out of the store.   The eye drops seem to be working a little.  We can't get the swelling to go down though.  Monday we are taking him to an allergist.  They wanted him off of all medication for 1 to 2 weeks.  I told them no way that he would be in the hospital for sure,  he has these problems on the eye drops and on the clariton and on the benedryl can you imagine without them??   I can't so I told her no way!!     So here we are trying to help the child with severe allergies and praying that he finds relief super soon.

Museuming again this summer

Once again this summer we are doing the museum passports.  It is a great way to spend a day out of the house and yard.    So far I think we have hit 4 of the museums.   The boys love going out and seeing and doing and most of the time we are with friends so we end up doing lunch and a park after.   It is FUN!!!

We are also doing the summer movie series.  We have never done it before until this year but here's the scoop you get 12 movies for 7.50 a person.   The movies are a little older some already out on dvd,  but it is still fun to go see the movies in the theater and you can't pass up the popcorn and soda  (for only 2.50 for both)   yep it is a cheap way to spend the afternoon and we have even seen a couple movies so far we had never seen.

Here is a few pictures from one of our museum trips.  At Fort Caspar Museum there is a walking trail down to the North Platte River.   This is where the Mormon Pioneer barge was made and floated back and forth across with the wagons.  Connie and I let the kids play at the river for awhile then we headed to the park for our picnic lunch.    Connie is another homeschool mom who we get to hang with often.   I am so thankful for the opportunity that I have to homeschool.  I have met some wonderful people there.
(this top picture is Robbie, does he look excited or what???)
Here is Sid running along the bank of the river
Look at how fun this is..  they were all throwing rocks into the river and I caught with the camera them doing it all at once arms up and all.  :)
here is 4 of the 5 kiddos...   enjoying one of the first days of warm weather.

This weekend is the 4th of July.  Happy Independence Day!   Let's all remember why we celebrate this "holiday"  it isn't for the 3 day weekend, it isn't for the fireworks, it isn't for the bbq's,  it isn't for camping, etc...      It is to celebrate our Nation, the flag, those fighting for our freedom.    I am thankful for those who have served in the military in the past and the present.  I am thankful to their families who give up so much for my behalf.  So on July 4th take a minute to give thanks to those that have made your freedom possible.

This is the teepee at the Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis...   It is pretty.  It started out as just a metal frame to let the exhaust out..  Look what it has turned into today from the minerals of the hot springs water.
This is the  view from the water (hot springs)  going into the river.
The boys LOVE to swim....   so that is what we did .....   until 10 pm on Sunday and they woke up birght and early and went out again until we had to check out.

Slacker am I.....

Sorry for not blogging in forever.................              I have lots of pictures that I will get off the camera soon and post.   Sid's birthday was good.   He had fun,  we went mini golfing with friends from homeschool and then we went to lunch with them and then my mom came right after we got done eating so then we hung with her and waited for Kennen to get off so Sid could open gifts.  He was so excited and then we also had a cold stone ice cream cake (our first and last..  don't get me wrong it was the best cake ever...  but when you see the size of said cake you will understand.  and it cost 35 bucks  so keep that in mind for future reference)

My mom spent the entire week with us.  We played and played...   okay she and the 2 boys played..  one day Kennen and I shoveled 7 ton of gravel I think it ended up being.  The sad thing is that is a lot of gravel and it didn't even make a dent.  Oh well, I suppose every single piece of rock is a little more than we had before.  I will have to take pictures of the back yard it is coming together nicely.

While mom was here we seen Kung foo Panda 2   it is way cute and then my mom took the boys to see the new Pirate movie...   And they even all stayed in a motel for a night..  yep Kennen and I had a date night want to know how lame it is..  we went to Home Depot and Southerlands..  yep and then he picked out Despicable Me to watch..    We had left over for dinner...  Yep we are romantic...   :)

Kennen has been working crazy hours.  he has worked the last 8 days straight and he has been gone 12 - 16 hours a day.  It has been a very long week and I am ready for the extra adult to be home (and the boys are ready for dad)  Sid asked yesterday if we could meet dad in Riverton for lunch so we could see him.  poor kiddo...

I also got to see my cousin for the first time in about 12 or 13 years.  It was GREAT, the boys and I drove to Rawlins and met her there for lunch.  (hence the reason its okay to drive to Riverton for lunch)   I am so thankful that I have been able to get back in touch with many of my family members how I love each and everyone of them.

Hope you all are well...  this is just a little taste of further posts.     :)      Oh...   we made a yoda doll and a jar jar binks one..  super cute...
